We will never apologize for remembering.

I'm not just angry. I'm nauseous.

This week, Susan Abulhawa, an anti-Israel activist with a long history of dehumanizing Jews, responded to criticism that New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani had failed to appoint a single Jewish member to his 18-person judicial screening panel.

This is not an isolated outburst. Abulhawa has repeatedly referred to Jews as "vampires," "demons," and "ghouls," celebrated the October 7 Hamas massacre, and previously collaborated with New York City First Lady Rama Duwaji, Mayor Mamdani's wife.

She said, "There is an extreme overrepresentation of Jews in every branch of government, media, and culture..."

She continued:

"...but we have to listen to more Holocaust whining because ONE damn judicial panel didn't contain enough Jews."

She warned that if Jews don't "rein in" other Jews, "it's not going to end well for anyone."

Listen lady:

We have people among our people who are still alive, who lived through the horrors that you are misappropriating for your own causes.

We have people among us who still live with tattoos on their arms and trauma you could never understand.

As a people, Jews have every obligation to make sure that no one can ever do that to us again.

And you, who claims gen*cide for Palestinians, but clearly doesn't even understand the word-

You, who belittles the m*rder of 6 million Jews...

How dare you.

We will never belittle the memory of what happened to our people.

When you open your mouth, you simply strengthen our resolve to protect our people, tell our story, and refuse to be intimidated.

We will never apologize for remembering.

And we will never surrender the lessons we learned from the Shoah.

We can't.

Because people like you remind us everyday what happens when the world forgets.
