The economy in Iran is collapsing. The currency has lost its value. People can’t afford food or medicine. Shop keepers have shuttered their stores. People are still being beaten, arrested, silenced.
Fear isn't a deterrent the way it used to be. They have already lost too much.
Iranians are protesting in the streets. Pushing back against their government, shaking the base, waiting for it to fall.
They are chanting, "No more poverty! No more tyranny!"
“This is the final battle! Pahlavi will return.” (The son of the Shah)
The Rial has shockingly plummeted from 1,445,000 to $1 in a moment. Everything they had is gone.
And the billions that the Iranian government has spent pestering Israel, are all gone, too.
And still their government is threatening us. Rebuilding their arsenals. Readying for w*r again.
As an Israeli watching the chaos in the streets of Iran, I want to be clear about something.
We don’t want to fight the Iranian people.
We remember when we weren’t enemies, when there were direct flights, trade, shared interests, and a time when our countries lived alongside each other in peace.
Our issue has never been with the people of Iran.
It’s with a government that has brutalized its own citizens for decades and openly calls for our destruction.
As long as that regime stays in power, this doesn’t end well for anyone.
W*r keeps coming back.
People on both sides pay the price.
We don’t want more destruction.
We want peace with the people of Iran and for the people of Iran.
But we can’t wait to be annihilated.
If Iranians are able to topple this government and start rebuilding their country, Israel won’t be an enemy. We’ll be among the first to show up as partners again.
We hear the voices in the streets.
We see the collapse, the suffering, the broken promises.
The regime has spent more energy hating us than caring for its own people.
They are crying, “No to Gaza, No to Lebanon. I give my life for Iran.”
The clock is ticking.
The headlines are thrumming. Politicians are plotting.
The citizens of Israel are waiting to see what will happen.
Praying for peace always.
