There are more than 260 anti-Israel protests planned around the world on and around the anniversary of October 7.

There are 365 days in a year, and choosing the anniversary of the worst m*ssacre of Jews since the Holocaust as the day to mobilize against the Jewish state is obscene.

I can't believe I need to attempt to clarify this, but October 7 is not simply “the day the war started.”

It is the day families were m*rdered in their homes.

Young people were sl*ughtered at a music festival.

Children and the elderly were dragged into G*za.

The day parents hid with their babies in safe rooms, whispering so t*rrorists would not hear them.

Entire communities waited for help that never came.

The day Israelis learned, in the most br*tal possible way, that the worst things we had been warning each other about were not paranoid fantasies after all.

And now, three years later, the anniversary of that day has become another occasion for crowds around the world to gather and scr*am against Israel in our mourning.

I am trying very hard to understand the moral logic of that.

If your activism is really about Palestinian suffering, why does it need October 7?

Why does it need the anniversary of m*rdered Israelis?

Why does it need to place Jewish grief underneath Palestinian slogans?

October 7 already belongs to the d*ad.

To the h*stages.

To the survivors.

To the families.

To the people who are still living inside the consequences of that day.

The day Israelis mourn becomes a day to condemn Israel?

The day Jews remember being massacred becomes a day Jews around the world are warned to be careful?

And there is something even more frightening about how normal this now seems to people who would instantly understand the cru*lty if the v*ctims belonged to almost any other group.

You do not have to agree with Israel.

You do not have to support its government.

You do not have to stop advocating for Palestinians.

But if your ignorance is so profound that even October 7 is free game to be turned into an argument against Jews and Israelis, then I think something has gone very wrong in your moral machinery.

Using Jewish grief as a prop for your ignorance is a des*cration.

Inciting more h*tred of Jews on that day is heinous.

I can't understand a world that can't understand any of this
