The Exodus isn't only a story we retell; it's a living journey that speaks to our generation.
The Az Nashir Haggadah: On the Path to Redemption (Matan Edition) is the third volume in the Az Nashir series, a groundbreaking collection of women's prayers, writing, and scholarship emerging from Israel at this moment in Jewish history.
The SHVILLI Center and The Layers Press have created this volume in partnership with the premier women's Torah educational center in Israel, Matan Women's Institute for Torah Studies. This Haggadah brings together leading Israeli female scholars, writers, educators, therapists, and artists to reengage with the story of the Exodus as a living, ongoing journey.
Alongside the traditional Haggadah text, this volume features original Torah scholarship, contemporary reflections, personal prayers, and insights into the psychology, pedagogy, and storycraft of the Seder. It also hosts visual art and photography, as well as thoughtfully crafted conversation prompts to enrich the spiritual preparation for Pesach and enliven every Seder table.
Designed as an anchoring Seder companion, this Haggadah honors tradition while inviting honest engagement with Israel, exile, memory, trauma, resilience, and hope.
Written from within Israeli life and shaped by women's voices, The Az Nashir Haggadah: On the Path to Redemption understands geulah not as a single moment, but as a process: one that unfolds through storytelling, study, prayer, and the courage to keep singing even when the path is unknown.
A Haggadah for our time.
