AZ NASHIR: 4 NEW TEFFILOT FOR PESACH

I have not been able to stop thinking about Pesach.
Last Pesach, I started crying as soon as my father began singing, "Kadesh, Orchatz..."
I had never in my life, felt the relevance of the Seder stories as I did on that night.
We had just left the bomb shelters after being attacked by Iran, on one of the scariest nights of my existence - and to be alive, to have survived- to have witnessed miracles of the magnitude we saw when our defenses, our allies, and Hashem saved us from an attack like we had never seen before--
I finally understood how precious the moment was, of coming around a Seder table and telling the stories we know so well- why we needed to keep telling them, year after year.
The conversation during maggid was intense, relevant, and real.
We found our own present stories woven through the stories of our people's past.
And now, when I think about coming back to the Seder with the same intensity, I take a deep breath.
I think about everything we've been through- everything that is still going on.
I think about how we are living in the center of a new narrative unfolding.
I went through the Haggadah and I began to write.
I found some words to articulate the present through the prism of the past- inspired by our ancient and enduring liturgy.
I poured my heart into 4 new techinot (prayers) for our Sedarim this year- one for every cup, one for every son and daughter-
Words that bring today into our tradition.
Join me in sharing them with your families. Let's use this time pray together.
