Az Nashir Contributors Garden Party

On Friday, I hosted a lovely little garden party for our Az Nashir: Between Silence & Song book contributors in my backyard in Jerusalem.

As around 30 women walked into my home, it felt like the book came alive; each woman who entered through the door popping off the pages of this new volume. I was overwhelmed and ecstatic to see so many of them in one place.

We ate and connected and then sat around in a circle and talked about what brought us to the project, what experiences shaped our prayers, their artwork. What was living between the lines of what they wrote or painted, what the process was like, and what they have processed since.

It was incredible to sit with a group of women who came to a project with the same intentions and goals, who love our land and our people, and who pray for a better world.

I pray their words shape our reality as we co-create a new future with God.

I sense that in this beautiful morning we shared, there is a new beginning brewing. A need for something that I've been feeling on the edges of my consciousness for the last few months, and something I think I'll be ready to bring into the world soon enough.

To many more prayers, to more listening, to more connection, and to work that brings people together, anticipating the geula shalaimah.

Thank you to Tzipora Lifchitz for these stunning photos and Bracha Lankin for creating such a gorgeous event!!
